LDF Participates in the 9th Bangladesh Leather & Footwear Expo 2025

The 9th Bangladesh Leather & Footwear Expo 2025 was held from 24–26 July 2025 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka. This premier exhibition brought together key stakeholders of Bangladesh’s Tanney, leather and footwear industry, showcasing advanced shoe-making machinery, leather goods machines, automation production lines, shoe materials, leather, synthetic leather, chemicals, and more.

Mr. Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Interim Government of Bangladesh for Industries, graced the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. There was also a panel discussion segment after the inauguration ceremony.

As part of this prestigious event, the Leather Development Forum (LDF) actively participated by setting up a stall to highlight its role in the growth and sustainability of the Tannery & leather sector. LDF members showcased their activities, initiatives, and knowledge products, engaging with industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and visitors from home and abroad. The stall created an opportunity to introduce LDF’s work to a wider audience and strengthen connections with other stakeholders in the community.

With more than 220 tanneries, 2,500 footwear manufacturing units, and 90+ large firms currently operating in Bangladesh, the leather and footwear sector is one of the country’s largest industries, contributing significantly to exports in over 50 countries. The Expo served as a vital platform to promote innovation, collaboration, and future growth within the sector.

Through its participation, LDF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable practices, knowledge sharing, and development initiatives that contribute to the advancement of Bangladesh’s leather and footwear industry.
